The DEI 492T replacement remote is pre-coded at the factory with so each 492T remote has a different unique "code".

The DEI 492T replacement remote works only with 302 MHz systems utilizing the new code-hopping technology. It is "similar" to the pre-coded DEI 493C, 302 MHz, replacement remote. Therefore the DEI 492T is not compatible with the older 302 MHz systems that did not have code-hopping technology..

Some of the DEI systems that use the DEI 492T replacement remote are various models and manufacturing dates for the DEI Automate, Hornet, Python, Sidewinder, Valet &Viper.These DEI systems utilizing this 302 MHz code-hopping technology were manufactured from late 1995 to early 1997

Earlier manufacturing dates utilized the DEI 493C replacement remote 302 MHz Non-Code-Hopping technology.

Later manufacturing dates utilized the new DEI 491T replacement remote HF 434 MHz code-hopping transmitter frequency, which is not compatible with the older 302 MHz systems.

The DEI 493C replacement remote is now the correct replacement for the DEI systems that used the DEI 492T remotes, as the DEI 492T remote is no longer available from the manufacturer.The DEI 493C replacement remote is a 302 MHz, non-code-hopping remote that works with these 302 MHz code-hopping systems.You cannot use any replacement remotes with the newer HF 434 MHz technology as a replacement for the DEI 492T remote.
