2-button, Uncoded, Trinary, 3-channel, Red LED, 302 MHz, 2/29 codes, Non-Code-Hopping replacement remote.

Used with most DEI Systems (Automate, Equalizer, Hornet, Pro Guard, Python, Sidewinder, Steal Stopper, &Viper) manufactured between 1992 &1996 (Date Codes 2K thru 6H).

The newer DEI 493T replacement remote is not interchangeable with the older DEI 465T remotes. You must use the correct remote that matches your DEI system.

The DEI 493T remote has 20 traces (5 groups of 4) in the circuit board that must be "cut" to exactly match the traces that are cut on the circuit board of your specific DEI system.

Your DEI system has a unique "transmitter code" that determines exactly which of the 20 traces needs to be cut to match your system. Traces must be cut according to the instructions included with the remote. You cannot just "match" the cuts on your original remote and the replacement remotes cover several older original versions of the DEI 493T as well as some newer versions

The "transmitter code"is a 6-digit number and the letter A (sometimes the A is not shown).This code should be found inside an original remote transmitter on a white sticker attached to the black chip in the lower part of the left hand photo. See an example at

Locating the transmitter code

It will read 3 xxxxx A. (Such as 3 68773 A, or 368773 without an A, etc.) This code will enable us to cut the correct traces for you so the replacement remote is matched to your alarm CPU. The "transmitter code" may also be found on a white sticker on the DEI system's control unit, CPU, (also known as "the brain").
