DEI 457G GM Remote Start & Door Lock Databus Interface

The fast and easy way to hook up factory power door locks and controlling the factory security system!

The DEI 457G is a combination module that interfaces with specific GM vehicles for both the power door lock functions and the remote start operation.

The DEI 457G converts the signals from keyless entry, alarm, and remote start systems directly into signals that can be understood by the vehicle's data bus system.

This allows interfacing with the factory security and power door lock system through the existing factory data wire in the vehicle.

The 457G controls the door lock operations including locking, unlocking, and driver's door only unlocking.

ADDENDUM

The 457G also provides control of the factory security system. The factory security system can be armed and disarmed when locking or unlocking the doors, or disarmed when remote starting without unlocking the doors, so the vehicle remains secure.

The 457G also operates the smart dome light integration on some vehicles.

The DEI 457G harness wires connect to the DEI (or other brand) CPU alarm, keyless entry, or remote start Door Lock / Unlock Outputs and the Door Trigger Input if you are installing an alarm. Then connect the DEI 457G Data Bus Output to the vehicle's Data Bus wire at the Diagnostics Connector located at the bottom of the dash on the driver's side. That's it! It's that easy.

The alternative to using the DEI 457G GM Data Interface on 2003+ Full size Trucks and SUV's is to make the traditional +/- door lock / unlock wiring connections inside the individual doors. You would need 4–DEI 8617 40-amp relays for 2 door models, and 5–DEI 8617 40-amp relays for 4 door models. To check this out, we have included the wiring diagram for doing this at the end of this page.

The DEI 457G also enables remote starting for GM vehicles with the Passlock II and the PassKey III factory anti-theft immobilizer systems.
